What is MySQL?
MySQL is an open source relational database management system (RDBMS) that uses Structured Query Language (SQL), the most popular language for adding, accessing, and processing data in a database. Because it is open source, anyone can download mySQL and tailor it to their needs in accordance with the general public license. MySQL is noted mainly for its speed, reliability, and flexibility.

What is PHP?
Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) is a widely-used general-purpose server side scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML.

What is ASP
Active Server Pages (ASP) is a server side embedded scripting language developed by MicroSoft to enable dynamic applications to be written for the web. We currently have Sun Chili!Soft ASP installed on our Linux based web servers.

What is a Firewall?

What is FTP?
File Transfer Protocol. Application protocol, part of the TCP/IP protocol stack, used for transferring files between network nodes. It will allow you to upload your website files to your own virtual server account.

What is Perl?
Perl is a high-level programming language written primarily by Larry Wall. It derives from C and to a lesser extent from sed, awk, the Unix shell. Perl's process, file, and text manipulation facilities make it particularly well-suited for tasks involving quick prototyping, system utilities, software tools, system management tasks, database access, graphical programming, networking, and world wide web programming.

What is SSI?
NCSA HTTPd SSI allows users to create documents which provide simple information to clients on the fly. Such information can include the current date, the file's last modification date, and the size or last modification of other files. In its more advanced usage, it can provide a powerful interface to CGI and /bin/sh programs.

What is SMTP?
Short for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, SMTP is a protocol for sending e-mail messages between servers. Most e-mail systems that send mail over the Internet use SMTP to send messages from one server to another; the messages can then be retrieved with an e-mail client using either POP or IMAP.
